Gill Farrington

Born in Surrey, UK

Currently living in the gorgeous Preseli Hills in Mynachlog-ddu, ,Pembrokeshire, West Wales

 

I have painted since I was a very small child.  My father was a great inspiration to me as he was an excellent amateur artist and I have many of his paintings on my walls.

I am mostly self taught but I attended  Farnham Art College for around 2 years studying a BA in Fine Art  and achieved a Merit pass in Fine Art from the London Art College. In addition I have taught art for the adult education sector for Hampshire CC and at Bracknell  College, Berkshire.

​

My main passion is for nature and landscapes and much of my art is floral or botanical. I am lucky enough to have plenty of inspiration living in Pembrokeshire

​

I love watercolour and  often use mixed media or acrylic.  Lately I have returned to oil paints which I have not used since art college having had nowhere to work.  Now I have a beautiful studio in our large rural garden which means I can keep my artwork and our five cats separate - mostly. I have wonderful views of the Preseli hills to inspire me and wonderful coastlines within a few minutes drive.

I am also a member of Fishguard Art Society, based on the coast in Pembrokeshire and enjoy taking part in their exhibitions.
